Dave Mathews, Elder Fairlawn church of Christ
Dave was born and raised in Florida. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He and his wife Cheryl moved to Muncie in 1980 when Dave took a position with Ball State University where he worked for 38 years before retiring in 2019. Cheryl received her BSN from Florida and worked in various positions in the health care field. She spent her last 18 years at Little Red Door working with cancer patients.
Dave and Cheryl have been married for over 40 years and have 2 children (Tyson and Courtney), a son-in-law (Ryan) and one grandson (Shep).

Michael Thomas, Elder Fairlawn church of Christ
Michael has been a member of Fairlawn since 1984. He has been married for over 40 years to his lovely wife, Elizabeth, (BJ). He has two amazing children who have blessed him with 5 grandchildren who are his sun and moon. Michael spent most of his work life as a Marriage and Family Therapist helping families and especially children make successful adjustments to day to day living. He continues his service as an Elder and teacher at Fairlawn.

Richard (Rick) Beckman, Deacon of Finance
Richard was born and raised in Muncie and graduated Southside. He grew up in the Fairlawn family and has raised two faithful children, Tanya and Taryn. He has been happily married to Linda for over 30 years. Besides making a penny spend like a nickel, Rick does a lot for our youth and it keeps him young at heart.

Marty Stricklin, Deacon of Buildings & Grounds
Marty Stricklin Buildings and Grounds Deacon
Marty became a Christian while attending Ball State University and has been a part of the Fairlawn family for nearly 30 years. He and his wife, Diane, have been married for over 30 years and have 3 sons: Marty II, Zach and Tyler. Marty and his family host a weekly gathering in their home with fun, food and Bible study for the youth (middle school to college-aged) on Thursday nights at 6PM.
